With so many people on computers all day, the number of people we’re seeing in the clinic with carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) has skyrocketed. Research has shown that supplementation with vitamins B6 and B2 are useful in the treatment of carpal tunnel.

It’s important to keep in mind that increased exposure to vitamin B6 anti-metabolites (things that block the metabolism of vitamin B6) is correlated to increased rates of carpal tunnel syndrome.

Do your best to avoid exposure to hydrazine dyes (FD&C yellow #5) and certain drugs (talk to your doctor about these) for the role they play as antie-metabolites. Also, excessive protein intake can cause a disruption in the natural metabolism of vitamin B6.

If you’re in New York City, and looking for an acupuncturist to treat your carpal tunnel syndrome wrist and hand pain, head over to the Contact Us page to make your appointment at Dylan Stein Acupuncture today.
